my name is blackjackAV,
I am an admin on this site, as well as a fellow amateur voice actor. I'm in a few things and I also host this really fun show here on the site, which will be having a new season soon!... But enough about me, I'm not the point of this forum today.
The point of this thread is to help familiarize you guys with the site and showcase some of the exciting opportunities we offer here at VH!
So let's get STARTED!
- 1. FIRST thing I wanna show because to me its like the bread and butter of VH is checking New Posts. This is an easy way to keep yourself updated with what's popular and happening at the time.
(There are also the specific subforums which you can also check, but like 90% of the time I'm online I find myself refreshing this tab to see what's up:)
I personally click "My Assistant" and then click the "New Posts" tab because I think it's arranged neater that way.
2. NEXT It's probably a good Idea to show you how to get involved in the Voice Acting stuff. Like most AVA sites we have an audio and video production casting area, but what sets us apart, and what I personally find to be the most entertaining is our Game Show section. Each weekend we generally have at least 1 live skype game show going on, and believe me these things are a BLAST! VH has a very active and welcoming skype community so signing up for one of the shows would be a great way to introduce yourself:
Some game shows I've been in: The Mole 2, Memento Mori, Battle Royale.
3. ANOTHER way to get involved, is by joining one of the 4 Residential neighborhoods of Virtual Hollywood. The neighborhoods serve as fun RP sections as well as team bonding and rivalry sections. You might find fellow districts combating against each other, so be sure not to miss out on the local action!
I promised Dylan I wouldn't subliminally promote Down VH, so I won't...
4. ANOTHER aspect of the site that sets us apart from others is our $$$ VH Money, Banking, and Store system! You earn money, by winning contests and participating in games (we will be adding more to this soon). And you can spend the money on Pets, VH Yugioh/pokemon cards, or even personal services from a fellow member!
We even have a section where you can open a shop and sell pretty much w/e u want!5. ALSO like every forum we have our Random Section where you can post forum games, display headshots and beauty pics of yourself. Or anything you want to talk about!
I love it when people resurrect dead forum games <3
What's new this month: VTV - It's a list of scheduled weekly shows, encouraging producers to create a show and try and make it a hit!
Winners can take their place amongst the VH greatests!
What's soon to come: VH Jobs - Increased Rewards System - MOAR EPICNESS!!!So with those pointers this guide will come to a close. Do Note that this guide does NOT showcase everything in VH, it just highlights some easy tools to help ya'll get started.
After all, I don't wanna take away the fun of browsing through the site for yourselves.
Finally a good non-mandatory To-Do list: (to help ya'll succeed)

show / competition starting fairly soon and audition for it.

Introduce yourself and start scouting through the

Listen to a fun show and comment on it.
