Hey guys!

Here's the thing. I'm making an animation for my thesis and I'm in need of some original music to go along with it. The due date is months from now, but I thought I'd start scouting around for a composer now. In a nutshell, the story is about a ghost school who teaches students to haunt houses, but the number one rule is, "DO NOT ENGAGE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE RESIDENTS" meaning no talking or touching. Obviously this causes some problems when one of the students decides she's going to break the rule and answer an ouija board.

The length of the whole thing is still to be determined but I'm thinking the whole thing may go to 8 to 10 minutes. The thesis is still far from completion, but I should have a full storyboard done within the next month(ish) so you can get the gist of the sort of thing I'd like. Right now, I've been using tracks from Coraline (particularly this one) to fill in and create the mood I'm looking for. In terms of the sound, I'm definitely looking for something that emulates a similar feel.

If anyone is interested or could even just point me in the direction of someone who'd be able to help me out here, do let me know. Feel free to post here or just email me with the subject line "Thesis Music Composer" and include any samples that are relevant to what I'm looking for. More details about the story and time frame can be given upon request.

Monetary compensation can be negotiated but keep in mind I am just a student and don't have an enormous budget. In addition to cash payment, I'll obviously credit you and also offer you services in art.

Thank you!

I forwarded this to a composer, I'm also quite interested only I don't know how much time will go into this (Not sure I will have the time at the time you need the music)

Thank you for the forward and interest, Crystine! I would need the music before the end of March (possibly early April) if that gives you a better idea of the timeframe.

And how many songs you think you'll need? One long one? or a few separate?

I'm going to think about this, it's just when I'm starting my abroad internship so I dunno how that will go together with a hobby XD

I'm thinking one long song, or if it's easier to break it up into a couple then that would be fine too. The thing is I still have to work out the timing before I can say something definite though (and that won't happen until at the latest, mid-January.)

No pressure! I wouldn't wanna take away from your study abroad. c:

Whoa...I'm definitely interested in this, although I won't have access to the music lab to make any new tracks until Spring semester. However, I can send you some previously made tracks, if you would prefer. :)

Dunno when you'll start choosing a composer, but I'm so tempted >.> 'll just go ahead and will send you my latest composition that has a mix of things.

Edit: sent you an e-mail
